D&D and Knitting

I don't have much to report since my last post, Though I did finish my Snuggles Gloves from Ravlery. I LOVE how they turned out, but sadly they are FAR to thick to be worn comfortably at work.

Oh well, all that means is I have a new pair of driving gloves for winter that won't wear out in few weeks.

It also give me an excuse to play with my Shubui Dragonfly sock yarn to make Koigu Fingerless Gloves. This will be the first time using this yarn and let me tell you, I cannot WAIT to play with this. It is super soft and springy enough that I think its going to knit up into some great work gloves. Time will tell on that though. I've tried a few patterns out now for work gloves and each one has had its' problems that make the glove unsuitable for the work I do. Which mostly means they impede my typing ability enough to make me want to take them off whenever I need to type something... which is pretty much all the time.

Now, as to the title of this post, many people know I am a nerdy/geeky gamer girl. I like D&D, MMORPG's, Sci-Fi, Steampunk etc. And I always find it amusing when I pull double duty on that nerdy/geeky gamer front. One of this instances happens to be tonight.

As I post this my husband and I husband are playing a game of Pathfinder over Skype with a group of friends. To fill in the time between RPing I am alternating working on a Christmas project and my N7 glarf.  This made me think about what I'm doing most nights that I'm gaming in one form or another. Most D&D nights I'm knitting and when I think about it they do tend to be of the geeky variety. But when I'm knitting at work, it is always something benign, or at least seemingly benign like my Dr. Who scarf. I wonder why this is... I usually have the geeky stuff with me, but for some reason I don't pull it out at work. Curious and certainly food for thought.  Am I ashamed of my geeky knitting habits? I have no qualms about wearing my animal ear hats at work, but I won't bring out my geeky knits? Hmm...

Well I am going to go ponder this and while I do that I leave you with a picture of the ghost kitty Yuki. And yes, this is how she usually sleeps on my computer desk shelf.

I think I'm a tiger. Rwar!
